When did you decide to become a writer?

I've been writing since I was very young. I used to sit on our porch and craft these terrible short stories and poems. As I got older I started keeping journals and writing more complex stories. I still have most of those journal hidden in my closet (and the writing is just as terrible as you'd imagine!) It wasn't until I finished my Ph.D. in 2012 that I decided to pursue writing full time.

Can you be my critique partner/beta reader? Can I send you my manuscript?

I currently offer editing services that include beta critiques, in-depth critiques, and developmental edits. Check out my Editing Page for more information. I'd love to work with you!

Where do you get your ideas?

My ideas come from everywhere and anywhere - dreams, media, people watching! The stories and ideas are always there as long as I'm willing to pay attention!

Is writing your full-time job?

Yes and no. I am blessed enough to stay home and raise my family. With that said, I also homeschool my children and that is a full-time job in and of itself! My spare time is spent writing and running my author business. While it would be wonderful to focus on writing full time, I'm happy with the balance I have.

Traditional or Indie Publishing?

Both! I was with a traditional publisher before I decided to pursue Indie Publishing. While I admire authors published both traditionally and indie, I think it is important for each individual to choose the best path for them. Both have their pros and cons.
