FAQ and POLICIES
Payment Policy: All Beta and Critique must be paid in full before work will begin. A 50% deposit is required for all editing services. The final 50% must be paid upon completion in order to receive the final product. Payments are accepted through PayPal. An invoice will be sent via email for each booked service.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. For full manuscripts, your payment is fully refundable as long as you cancel prior to one week in advance. If you cancel less than one week in advance, there is a 25% cancellation fee.
What qualifications do you have? I have both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in English/Language Arts/Secondary Education and have several years of teaching experience from the high school level to the graduate school level. I also hold a Ph.D. from a Tier 1 research university and a certification in qualitative research. Mentoring and working with other writers is one of my passions! I was contracted with a publishing company before I decided to pursue indie publishing. I currently have three novels published and will release the next two novels in the near future.
What is your turnaround time? Depending on the length of the manuscript, I try to complete all edits/critiques within 3-4 weeks. Beta Reads are completed within 2 weeks.
What is your critique style? I believe critiquing should feel like a constructive conversation, not a formal 'academic' experience. While I believe in being honest during the process, it is important that the feedback be direct, helpful, and focused on what your manuscript needs.
What formats do you accept? Please email your manuscript in a .doc or .docx file. Be sure your manuscript is in Times New Roman, 12 point font, and double spaced. All comments, changes, and edits will be done through 'Word' Track Changes.
